We are looking for a talented, dynamic and highly effective practitioner to become a Lead Practitioner in Science; a strong educator with a big heart, who shares our commitment and ambition for excellence and our belief that anyone can achieve, and go beyond expectation, with relentless dedication and hard work.

You will be an excellent and inspirational practitioner with a proven track record of success. The successfully appointed person will work within Science but also as part of a team of teaching and learning professionals in the College community to develop the practice of others. You will be able to lead a range of high quality professional development activities, including coaching and mentoring, peer/paired observation, planning and reflection

We are seeking some who is:

  • Passionate about challenging students to view the world through Science, inspiring them to love the subject
  • Committed to ensuring students and staff maximise every opportunity to achieve academically and personally
  • Inspirational with excellent interpersonal skills to take people with you
  • An excellent teacher demonstrated by student outcomes with a track record for using innovative approaches to securing high levels of student achievement through improving teaching and learning

Pendle Vale College is well located, situated just five minutes from the M65. Easily accessible from the larger towns and cities of Manchester, Preston, Bradford and Huddersfield, it is also in close proximity to the smaller rural communities for Pendle, Colne and Skipton. Nelson is under an hour away from the Lake District and North Yorkshire Moors.
