Lead Practitioners are ‘outstanding’ teaching and learning professionals with the capacity, capability, and commitment to support the pedagogical development of their peer colleagues. 

Are you able to model and lead the improvement of teaching skills within, and beyond, the classroom? Are you passionate in delivering high quality teaching and pastoral support to all pupils? We are looking for an inspirational, innovative, and motivational leader to join our team, here at The Bluecoat School, to enable and ensure all our children reach their highest potential.

 

The Opportunity

  • Develop a deep understanding and resulting strong pedagogical skills of colleagues across the school
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn and the impact this has on teaching
  • Impart knowledge and develop understanding through effective use of lesson time
  • Lead high quality Continued Professional Learning opportunities
  • Have a secure understanding of how a range of factors can inhibit pupils’ ability to learn, and how best to overcome these
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
  • Set goals that stretch and challenge pupils of all backgrounds, abilities, and dispositions. Be accountable for their attainment, progress, and outcomes

 

The ideal candidate

  • At least two years-experience at middle leadership
  • Has a deep understanding of teaching & learning
  • Can develop high quality pedagogical skills in others  
  • Will be a team player, with a ‘can do’ solution focused attitude
  • Is a creative thinker, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work
  • Has a clear, fully inclusive, educational philosophy
  • Is an excellent decision maker
