Ernulf Academy, currently going through an exciting period of change, is seeking a Lead Practitioner of English who has the highest level of aspiration to inspire beyond measure. With an over-arching focus on their students and a supportive staff culture, Ernulf Academy has high expectations for all. Ernulf Academy is built on a large site in St Neots with extensive facilities. St Neots is a market town with good facilities, within easy reach of Cambridge and with excellent transport links to London. The English Department places considerable emphasis on providing strong mutual support and developing positive professional relationships with neighbouring and partner schools by regularly meeting to discuss matters of pedagogy and practice, providing coaching and sharing good practice. The successful candidate will be expected to play a key role in this. The aim is to continue to build on the significant improvements already achieved by the English Department.

Ernulf Academy is a non-denominational, mixed academy school for 11- to 16-year-olds. It is located in St Neots, and has a capacity of 1,274 students.
Ernulf Academy is part of the St Neots Learning Partnership, which also includes another secondary school, Longsands Academy, plus the St Neots Sixth Form Centre. Many pupils wishing to continue their studies after 16 go on to the Sixth Form Centre. the schools work closely together to provide the best learning experience for the young people of St Neots.

The motto of Ernulf Academy is "aspire, challenge, excel". The school has high aspirations for pupils, and aims to challenge them to be the best they can be. Teachers emphasise the importance of attendance, punctuality and mutual respect.
Ernulf Academy became one of the first specialist performing arts colleges in Cambridgeshire in 2004, with a particular focus on dance, drama and music.
