Our School

Felixstowe School opened in September 2011, is located in an impressive 21st century education centre – a centre the whole community can be proud of. The building itself opened in April 2014, and provide impressive teaching premises.

With these fantastic resources, the school currently delivers education to over 1200 students, with approximately 150 in the school's sixth form.

We offer 21st century resources which serve to deliver a diverse range of exciting and challenging courses to our students across all Key Stages.  We have a suite of well equipped ICT suites, along with a number of Chromebook trolleys as bookable resources to aid learning.  We are pleased our students are at the forefront of the progression of technology in the classroom.

The school has an excellent range of purpose built sport facilities; this includes two sports halls, County and Sport England standard netball courts, an all weather pitch, tennis courts and vast open grounds that cater for Football, Rugby, Cricket and Athletics.

Within the Arts, our music suite offers up to date facilities for music composition, performance and recording, whilst our Performance and Production Arts students benefit from two large performance areas alongside a well-equipped 440 seat Main Hall.

With the best Science resources, Art and Photography studios, Technology rooms, AV Media Studio, Computing suites, alongside classroom and teaching resources in place for the next generation of students, we believe in partnership with parents and carers we will enable all students to receive an excellent education.

The area

Felixstowe is an Edwardian seaside town the River Orwell and River Deben on the North Sea coast of Suffolk, England.  The Port of Felixstowe is the largest container port in the United Kingdom.

Our Vision

We are proud to be a comprehensive school, where students from all backgrounds and abilities can come together to be part of our school. Inspiration, Influence, Integrity

We asked staff and students to think about the creation of a vision statement, reflecting aspects already achieved by the community at Felixstowe School as well as our aspirations for the school.

The process included an opportunity for us to reflect on the what the values of 'Inspiration', 'Influence' and 'Integrity' meant to us as a community and as individuals, before developing the words and ideas that would form our Vision. These values along with our vision will enable us to provide the excellent education provision that this community deserves.

Much of our focus now is around raising standards, improving the quality of teaching and learning, improved curriculum provision and excellent care, guidance and support. We have unrelenting high standards of all members of our school community. Our key aim is to provide a unique balance of fun, excitement and a love of learning with high expectations and aspirations. This will culminate in a rich and vibrant learning environment where students work hard and dream big!
