£32,233 - £35,229 per annum

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Lead Professional to join the Nethergate Academy, in order to provide a learning experience outside of the classroom.

The academy works with children and young people who have learning difficulties and complex needs and their families. 

Nethergate Academy is a special academy in the City of Nottingham for 112 pupils with moderate and complex learning difficulties. The age range is from 5-19 years with a range of ability extending from P6 – L6. Many pupils have autism and some have SEMH needs. 

You will implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced and relevant outdoor curriculum for pupils. This role will facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve the highest of standards.

To be successful you must be able to demonstrate:

• A sense of adventure and creative approach inspiring pupils to have a passion for outdoor learning
• An ability to lead and further develop opportunities for Learning Outside the Classroom making full use of grounds and community links
• A deep understanding of how Learning Outside the Classroom can make an important contribution to the personal development and wellbeing of all pupils

Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs would be advantageous and many of our children have English as a second language so an interest in EAL would be beneficial.
