As the Lead Teacher/ Practitioner in Creative Studies you will have experience of teaching at least one of the following subjects: Food, RM, Graphics, Art, Photography, Performing Arts and Music. You will be working at faculty level to share recognised best practice in teaching and learning through research and investigation, partnership teaching, mentoring and coaching, leading professional development, working parties, running a teaching and learning development group and working across faculties and departments to embed school priorities. You will work with teachers to support the development of their practice and be committed to securing high expectations for learning and raising achievement in a multi-ethnic school, including the tracking and monitoring of student progress.
The Creative Studies Faculty is a large faculty with 21 teachers and 3 technicians. We follow the national curriculum for KS3 and students take options for GCSE or BTEC qualifications to study in KS4. We have 9 subject areas within Creative Studies which are mentioned above with the addition of Textiles and Sport and an excellent team with a variety of skills. Average class sizes are around 20-22 students at KS3 and up to 20 at KS4 and staff are supported with some excellent resources and training.
