We are seeking to appoint a teacher of mathematics who can take a lead role in the development of our whole school numeracy strategy.

This exciting opportunity would be ideal for a skilled mathematics teacher who would like to lead on a whole school strategy to develop numeracy across all aspects of school life, helping to develop students so they are fully equipped to meet the numeracy demands of examinations and are prepared for meeting the challenges of every day life. The successful candidate will work with our lead practitioner with responsibility for literacy and numeracy to review, develop and enhance our existing provision.

The whole staff work to ensure ‘Better Never Stops’ and our students leave us as Waingels Ready epitomising our values of: Kindness, Resilience, Pride and Respect. Students achieve outcomes that prepare them to take their place successfully in the global 21st Century, whichever path they choose to follow.

The mathematics department consists of 13 teachers based in well resourced classrooms, each with an interactive whiteboard. The department has a proven track record of success and uptake for post-16 courses is always one of the highest in the school. Lessons adopt the mastery approach to mathematics teaching backed with high quality resources and equipment to enable all students to visualise mathematics concepts at an appropriate level.

Our students follow an academic core curriculum throughout Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This includes the study of History, Geography and a Language as well as English, Maths and Science. But our students also have the opportunity to do a range of practical and vocational subjects including a wide range of creative and performing arts, physical education and other humanities like Business studies, Psychology and Economics.

Outside the formal curriculum we offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs. Our students are also very active in the community working alongside local and overseas charities to raise money for good causes.

If you feel your values and ethos align with ours, this is an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for someone with energy and vision that is ambitious for themselves and the young people of the school. You will have a growth mindset and believe in offering dynamic learning across the Key Stages.
