We would like to present you with a truly exceptional opportunity to play a key role in shaping the provision of secondary education and lifelong learning prospects within our ambitious and wonderful academy.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, energetic, dynamic and ambitious practitioner, with a proven track record of outstanding teaching to this new role of lead teacher within our Humanities department. 

The successful candidate will be part of our highly successful and growing Humanities leadership team which comprises of: 

  • Head of Humanities faculty
  • Two existing TLR holders responsible for quality assurance, curriculum and progress
  • Lead Teacher in Humanities – THIS NEW POST
  • 5 other teachers of Humanities (in the specialisms of History, Geography, Sociology & RE)


This role will have a key focus on the development of our NQT and ITT staff in the Humanities faculty. Prior experience of mentoring staff is highly sought after for this post. 

The successful candidate must be able to teach Geography to a GCSE standard at both KS3 & KS4.


The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an outstanding teacher with the drive and capacity to improve the practice of others through their role
  • Have experience of teaching Geography
  • Be passionate about becoming a truly outstanding leader.
  • Have a clear vision of how to improve teaching and learning in Humanities
  • Be able to lead, motivate and inspire students and colleagues
  • Be resilient, hard-working, solution focused and whole heartedly committed to      transforming student outcomes

We are unashamedly focused on the educational outcomes of our students and deem that our students deserve to achieve the very best grades that they are capable of. We believe that this is the whole point of running a great school and we are exceedingly proud that we achieve this by taking a truly child centred approach.
