Bluecoat Academies Trust is seeking to appoint an outstanding Lead Teacher of Religious Studies to join our committed, successful and forward looking team at Bluecoat Academies Trust. The successful candidate will demonstrate their passion for their subject, together with excellent subject knowledge and will possess the ability to consistently teach inspirational lessons.  

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for the teaching and learning of Religious Studies and will assist in the management and leadership of the Humanities Faculty. As Lead Teacher, the successful candidate will be responsible for raising student attainment levels and help implement a vision for the faculty’s future. We are seeking an individual who is able to demonstrate clear views on how to promote Religious Studies across the academy and propose clear strategies as to how standards can be raised. 

Bluecoat Academies Trust is a relatively newly-established growing family of academies built on the success of our 300-year history. The Trust was formed in April 2014 as a result of the very long and successful history of Bluecoat Academy. Our aim is to be recognised nationally and internationally as we develop our innovative approach to inclusive, enriching and balanced cross curricular teaching, preparing young people for lifelong learning based firmly on our Christian principles. Bluecoat Academy is the lead academy within the Trust and is a highly successful, oversubscribed, 11-19 academy operating across two campuses within the city. Bluecoat Beechdale Academy is a growing school which has benefitted from a very real and positive impact as a result of joining the Trust in April 2014. The creation of our Church of England primary school, which opened in January 2015, is the most recent stage of the Trust’s growth.

The growth of our Multi Academy Trust makes this an excellent opportunity to join us as we seek to serve a growing number of young people across the region.
