ISCS is a new British School that provides the Cambridge International curriculum to the whole community of Swiss and International students. Our school delivers quality education all the way from Reception to Year 13. We are building a strong community of students, parents and an ISCS Team of staff that are highly motivated, supportive of the aims of the school and work together to maximise opportunities for all.

This is an exciting time in the development of our school as we are growing in numbers year on year, thanks to the work of the team and our growing presence in the community.  As a result, we are now seeking more excellent Professionals to enrich the Secondary Team.  Our class sizes are currently around 8-15 students, with the largest classes in Key stage 4 and 5. 

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Secondary German teacher to join the Secondary School from August 2022. Candidates must be enthusiastic about teaching the German language in an inclusive school setting. Experience of teaching other subjects such as Business Studies or English could be an asset. We are looking for someone who is passionate about quality teaching and learning in an international setting, creative in their thinking and a student of learning. The successful candidate will also be adaptable, motivated by challenge and an excellent classroom practitioner.

What do we look for?

The successful applicant for the teaching post will require the following: 

  • Good Bachelors Degree 
  • Certificated teaching qualification: PGCE or equivalent
  • Relevant teaching experience in a UK or International setting following the Cambridge International Curriculum or the National Curriculum of England and Wales 
  • Experience of teaching German in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 to include  IGCSE and A-Level or IB Diploma
  • Fluent English language  
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the pedagogy of Teaching & Learning 
  • Innovative and inspirational practitioner
  • High expectations of students and the team
  • Experience of using technology to promote learning 
  • Professional approach in line with the Teachers’ Standards
  • Adaptability of approach
  • Experience of writing Schemes of Learning and reacting to curriculum change 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

The International School of Central Switzerland (ISCS) is an independent, all-through, mainstream school following the Cambridge International Curriculum (Cambridge Pathways, IGCSE and A-LEVEL). Based in Cham, Switzerland, it teaches girls and boys from three to 18 years old.  The day school first opened in 2008 and has around 100 pupils on the roll at the moment. Class sizes are small, averaging around 16 pupils per room.
