Harris Garrard is currently looking to appoint an Academy World Studies Hub Leader to join its thriving team.

We have a brand new and exciting opportunity for an experienced primary teacher to join the primary phase of our academy as Academy Hub Leader for World Studies. As an all though academy, we have created a new level of highly visible middle management positions to focus on core subject areas within primary education. As well as leading on whole school activities, our Academy Hub Leaders will partner with hub leaders in our secondary education phase, promoting teaching pedagogy, sharing best practice and improving teaching and learning.

We are interested to hear from experienced primary practitioners who are currently in middle leadership jobs, as well as qualified teachers who are looking for their first promotion into a middle leadership post. We have the flexibility and scope to offer the successful applicant either a MPS salary plus TLR, or Leadership scale – this will be based on skills and experience and determined at interview.

Are you an aspirant middle leader looking for your next step in teaching?

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, or aspiring, middle leader to become the academy specialist focus on History, Geography and MFL and lead the academy hub for World Studies. The successful applicant will join a thriving academy team leading on subject teaching and learning improvements. This is a class based role with half a day per week assigned for leadership release. You will have the chance to play a major role in determining future strategy for our academy.

What we are looking for:

This role will likely suit engaging, proactive middle leader to work alongside our Head of Academy, managing and overseeing delivery of History, Geography and MFL across the academy.

Are you experienced teacher with:

  • QTS (or equivalent) and an undergraduate degree;
  • A proven track record of producing high quality achievements for all students
  • Passion and interest for History, Geography and MFL
