St Joseph’s Regional College is situated on the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW. Our College aims to provide a learning and teaching model for 1000 students of striving for excellence, your personal best. As a Catholic school we support our students with a Pastoral Care structure and well-being programs.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified teachers for the following position:

Leader of Administration and Staff Pastoral Care for the 2020 school year

The person appointed will have a full time temporary teaching position in the school for 2020 which will involve a reduced teaching load.


Co2 “Leaders of” positions are offered a contract within a set 3-year cycle as co-ordinator. A new cycle commenced in 2019. All co-ordinator positions must be advertised every 3 years within the school and incumbents are eligible for reappointment


Teacher Accreditation:

Teachers who are appointed to a leadership position, whether new to the position or applying to be reappointed during the contract period between 2019 - 2021, should have begun, or will begin to make a commitment to complete the requirements of Accreditation To Work Teach and Lead document, Category C, during this cycle.

Criteria

  • Applicants need to be willing and able to participate in and support the religious dimension of St Agnes’ Parish Secondary Schools. https://stagnesparish.org.au/
  • Qualifications in your specialised faculty must be addressed
  • Applicants must be enthusiastic and be willing to work in a team and add value to our already dynamic teaching faculty
  • Applicants must hold a current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Accreditation with NESA
  • Resume must include three listed referees

Ideally applicants will be a committed Christian who worships regularly in their local Christian community, who will support the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church’s work in School.

St Joseph’s Regional College is part of St Agnes’ Parish Secondary Schools, catering for approximately 1,100 students. These students, from Years 7 to 12, are given a holistic Catholic education about 10km west of Port Macquarie, New South Wales. The school was formed in 1969, and first opened for students in Years 7 to 10 by the Sisters of St Joseph. Since then, it has grown to cater for the final two years of high school, moving across a number of sites and building more facilities, including most recently a chapel, and stage in the College Hall. The school’s vision, “Everything is to be orientated towards the praise and glory of God”, encourages students to apply Christian values to their life while striving to do their best. The school aims to create a family atmosphere with its teachers, and be united with the parish school community.

Facilities 

The facilities of St Joseph’s Regional College exemplify the broad range of priorities that the school has. The college grounds include a creative arts block, as well as a performance arts centre and a study centre. It also boasts a library and study centre, science laboratory and gymnasium.  It also has a hospitality section and canteen area. Its focus on Christian values is seen in its college chapel.

Curriculum

The school’s curriculum revolves around 10 key learning areas and aims to provide a well-rounded education for its students. 

The curriculum has a core in religious education, with the base broadened in English, mathematics and science. It also aims to help students extend themselves in creative arts, personal development and physical education. Students are also given the opportunity to learn French.

The school has high expectations for its students, putting a focus on thinking creatively and critically, as well as forming strong relationships within its tight-knit community. Putting an emphasis on the students’ well-being, it wants to see students feel comfortable and supported to challenge themselves academically and academically to prepare themselves for the future.
