Rashid and Latifa School (RLS) was created as a unique entity by Royal Decree. We are committed to providing world class education in Dubai to ‘Inspire future leaders’.

ABOUT US

RLS will open its unique, world leading facilities in August 2023. The facilities comprise of one campus over three sites: a mixed gender primary and two single gender secondary sites.

RLS is a prestigious school primarily for the children of The Ruling Family of Dubai. A significant number of scholarships will be available which will support Emirati students, as well as those from the international community of Dubai.

The school is currently undergoing a major repurposing and refit to unite the three sites as one school campus. These bespoke facilities will include state of the art environments, which support an informed, future focused approach to learning and teaching.

RLS will establish its place as a ‘Global Leader in Education', providing an engaging, modified UK National Curriculum focused on personal and collaborative learning, enabling success for all within an innovative, dynamic and data driven environment that is learner-centred.

PURPOSE

The Leader of Arabic is an advocate of MSA and is responsible for inspiring academic excellence, and promoting the highest standards of Arabic language, literature and culture. We are seeking an exceptional, bilingual (Arabic / English) educational leader with a vibrant personality and the ability to connect with the school community through mutual trust and respect.

 

Leadership

  • Set an exemplary tone for the RLS community through modelling the school's vision, values, and ethos
  • Build and lead an exceptional team, relentlessly focussed on research based, innovative pedagogy placing high importance on student wellbeing, motivation and play based learning
  • Use data in an impactful way to support the holistic and academic performance of students and staff
  • Engage, inspire and motivate staff through professional practice, reflective dialogue and the implementation of a dynamic and effective performance management framework to support individual and whole school growth
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships and communication with parents and the community to support and improve pupils' enjoyment and achievement and ensure the safeguarding of all stakeholders
  • Lead a consistent, effective research-based approach to phonics and balanced literacy
  • Promote the use of current, high-quality Arabic and Islamic resources across the school
  • Promote Arabic language, literacy and culture through dialogue and engagement with the wider community


Learning and Teaching

  • Ensure the Arabic curriculum is founded upon positive relationships that enhance each student’s sense of belonging, level of motivation and engagement to promote successful learning
  • Lead and oversee the planning and development of an innovative curriculum with highly aspirational goals designed to support the unique needs of every student
  • Ensure the consistent implementation of behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive school culture that deliberately and carefully optimises conduct, character and academic achievement to develop a deep sense of belonging to RLS
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the quality of teaching and learning to inform school improvement priorities
  • Know how to tailor effective personalised provision for all learners including those for whom Arabic is an additional language, and how to apply diversity and promote equity and inclusion in teaching
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Assistant Head or members of the Senior Leadership Team

  • A minimum of 5 years outstanding practice in Arabic education, valuing pupil centred learning
  • Knowledge of MOE curriculum and current developments in the international language curriculum
  • Experience of leading Arabic A and B with proficiency in English
  • Demonstrate a high level of competence in the use and application of technology and data to enhance student learning
  • Demonstrate an exceptional work ethic with a positive, solution focused attitude and a love of Arabic literature
  • Be committed to undertaking and delivering professional development and engage in school focused action research
  • Embrace the unique opportunities the RLS campus will offer
  • Hold valid police checks and supportive references
