The New North Academy is seeking to appoint an inspiring, energetic leader, to create a culture of confidence and enthusiasm in the use of digital technology in every aspect of school life. We are completely committed to finding the right person for this post who is passionate and aspirational, just like us.

Our vision for technology at New North Academy is:

  • The integration of digital technology will inspire, excite and enrich the experience of all at The New North Academy
  • Learners will be creative, independent and discerning in their use of technology; empowering and preparing them for the future
  • Technology will build confidence, enable efficiency and ensure security across the Academy
  • Technology will challenge disadvantage ensuring every learner has access to cutting edge opportunities which utilise our digital world

The school has exciting plans to become a leader in the use of technology and the candidate must have the vision, skills and tenacity to make that happen. The successful candidate will be able to design, plan and deliver a strategy that excites staff and pupils; ensure that excellent use of technology is evident in every aspect of school life and inspire learners in its use and impact.

The New North Academy was formed from the merger of two schools in 2004. We moved into our new building, which enjoys state of the art facilities, in Easter 2007.

We are a two-form entry primary school, situated close to the Angel at Islington. Our community is very diverse and we serve an area of significant deprivation.

We have recently re-focused our vision for where our school can go! As a result, this is a really exciting time to be part of our school’s on-going development.

Ofsted judged us to be good, our results are above average and we aim to achieve outstanding status. We strive to ensure we provide the very best education for all our children.

We expect all staff to share the school’s commitment to the protection and safety of children and young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

An application form and details of this post are available on our website or by contacting the school by phone or email.

A conversation with the Headteacher prior to application can be easily arranged if you would like to find out more about the roles available or to learn more about our school – please contact Mrs Sylvia Lefever-Jones to arrange this.

Closing Date: 10am Monday 16th May 2016
Interview Date: Tuesday 24th May 2016
