We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic teacher of Business Studies to lead Key Stage 4 in our large and successful department. The position offers a unique opportunity for an ambitious teacher who is keen to develop an innovative and exciting curriculum in GCSE and VCert Business Studies courses. The ability to teach Economics is desirable but not essential.

At Little Heath School, Business Studies is taught at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 with a number of courses available to provide alternative pathways for students. At Key Stage 4 students may choose to study GCSE Business Studies or the VCert Level 1/2 in Business. At Key Stage 5 students may study for ‘A’ Level Business Studies or Cambridge Technicals Level 3 Diploma or Extended Certificate in Business.

The person we are seeking will:

  • be able to lead a large team in all aspects of KS4 teaching and learning;
  • monitor and track student progress at KS4 and plan intervention programmes as required;
  • be passionate about Business Studies and have the desire to share that passion with students;
  • be an innovative and inspiring classroom teacher;
  • be able to work collaboratively with a diverse team to enhance teaching and learning at Key Stage 4.

Little Heath School is a highly successful comprehensive school (1650 on roll, including 380 in the Sixth Form) situated in a pleasant semi-rural setting to the west of Reading, with good access to road and rail links.
