The Governors of Holy Trinity School wish to appoint a dynamic, forward looking candidate with successful 11-18 teaching experience to the post of Leader of Learning English & Media. This is a superb opportunity for an excellent teacher with some experience of leadership to progress their career and lead on the development of teaching of English and its associated subjects in a good school that is striving towards excellence.

The English team are dynamic and reflective.  Their outcomes have been consistently positive without being outstanding. The pandemic has presented challenges to a local community that serves Gatwick Airport but commitment to education has remained high throughout, with the school able to deliver over 10,000 hours of remote lessons. As students return to face to face education literacy remains a whole school focus with the role of English within this critical.

Applicants will need to demonstrate: their commitment to the teaching of English and its associated subjects; their leadership experience and potential for promoted responsibility; and how they are qualified for the challenges of this key post. The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher with a proven record of managing all aspects of a diverse teaching team.

In addition to teaching your primary and possibly a secondary subject across ages 11 to 18 there is an expectation that you may teach other subjects as directed in order to facilitate the delivery of the curriculum. Relevant support will be offered.

Welcome to the Holy Trinity Church of England Secondary School. We are a Voluntary Aided Church school with a rich history and a reputation for excellence.  

The school was opened in 1969 by the Queen and is believed to be the first purpose built Church of England comprehensive school in the country. Today it is an over-subscribed and vibrant multi-faith, multi-cultural school serving three deaneries of Cuckfield, East Grinstead and Horsham, and the community of Crawley, providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. This is a happy school where faith is valued and which is underpinned by core Christian values of mutual respect and compassion based on the Gospel of Christ.
