The Angmering School is a co-educational school based in West Sussex for students aged 11-18. It is a non-denominational school.

One of the school’s unique features is the fact it provides the opportunity for students to study more than one language. Students will also follow a “Futures” course which aims to develop attributes and skills for learning through real world challenges, such as running a cafe or fundraising for charity.

Values and vision

The Angmering School aims to work with students to encourage involvement in the wider community through things such as sports leadership at local primary and special schools.

The school also works with its locality group of primary schools to ensure smooth transitions for its students from Year 6 to 7, because it views this as crucial to their development.

At the school, it is also often believed that teaching and learning innovation often starts in PE and sport. Indeed, it is believed that PE and sport are central to establishing what the school deems to be its ethos of high expectations.

Ofsted

“This is an improving school. Students achieve well, gaining better-than-average GCSE results. Results have gone up considerably since the last inspection, particularly in English. Teaching is good with some outstanding practice. Teachers are enthusiastic and have good subject knowledge. Their strengths include their good use of questioning to check students’ progress.”
