Pilar leader of ‘Nature & Nutrition’ for a suitable candidate

Escola Global is looking to appoint a secondary teacher of Science for September 2018 or earlier. The ideal candidate will be a team player who would be able to lead a small department across all key stages. We are looking for a Biology and Chemistry specialist to complement our experienced Maths / Physics teacher. Our first cohort currently do Double Science but we would like to offer the three disciplines as discrete IGCSEs next year. Experience of KS5 teaching (A levels, Bachillerato or IB-DP) is an advantage but not essential for a well qualified candidate. 

The ideal candidate will be a team player who would take a lead role in developing the ‘Nature and Nutrition’ pillar of our curriculum. Part of this role could involve teaching Environmental Management at AS level and Food & Nutrition at IGCSE level if the candidate was interested in developing these areas.

Candidates do not have to be British trained but experience of IGCSE teaching is preferable. Suitable candidates should also have the ability to adopt a project based learning approach where subjects are, as far as possible, taught around a common theme in collaboration with other teachers. 

The school is located in the University Science Park, just 10 minutes from Palma centre, in pleasant countryside. It is only 20 minutes from Mallorca airport and a short 30 minute flight to Barcelona (residents are entitled to a 50% discount on flights). Mallorca Airport operates all year round and offers multiple low-cost opportunities to a range of destinations. 

Escola Global is a new start up school and has its own philosophy referred to as the 5 pillars, which students follow (Nature & Nutrition, Body & Health, Learning Support, Creativity and Innovation). The school was founded on the belief in a holistic education and therefore has a number of aims which; permeate the curriculum. Our first IGCSE cohort will take their examinations in May 2018 and in September 2018 we will open our new 6th form.
