Job overview

We encourage you to read our website very carefully and familiarise yourself with our 2014 Ofsted report, our prospectus, candidate information pack and application form for the post. What will be clear to you is that you are applying to an extremely successful school and one with a decidedly clear ethos of achievement. We moved, in November 2012, into a brand new £80 million school. The school became an Academy in September 2013 and was recognised by the Department for Education as a Teaching School in 2015. In 2017, the school’s results profile placed it in the top 5% of schools nationally for the sixth consecutive year. The school is committed to developing its teachers and to fostering the development of outstanding teaching. The school is a personalised community which is committed to creating careers for people. It is experienced in supporting NQTs and indeed enjoys this aspect of staff development but it has had equal success in fostering the careers of colleagues who join having taught in other schools or have had other careers.

Teachers provide outstanding Mathematics teaching. There are generous resources and all teachers have their own classroom which includes a range of interactive technology and brand new teaching resources. We are seeking to appoint a leading practitioner in mathematics who is a talented, creative, driven and charismatic teacher, enthused by the prospect of sharing strategies and best practice with other teachers in mathematics and across the curriculum. Leading Practitioners enjoy a special status in school and are part of a talented and powerful collection of colleagues who model and coach outstanding practice. The mathematics team have a school-wide tradition of challenging students with cryptic puzzles in a weekly competition, which is widely popular with students. We wish to appoint a colleague who is keen to contribute to this ethos if intellectual enquiry and promote the highest of achievement in the subject. Mathematics colleagues benefit from the participation in the Prince’s Teaching Institute and their professional development is supported by extensive shared practice within and between departments. Mathematics and Further Mathematics are popular with students and there are several A-level groups.

An application form that should be completed electronically is available from the school’s website: http://www.hollandparkschool.co.uk/vacancies/train-and-teach-with-us. Early application is encouraged as we will seek to interview and appoint on receipt. The closing date for applications is Friday 2nd March 2018.

We are hosting an open house event for prospective teachers on Saturday 3rd March 2018 beginning at 10.00. The event is aimed to provide an insight into this Ofsted outstanding and DfE recognised teaching school and supply details of how to pursue opportunities with the school. You are warmly encouraged to visit our website for details and to register your indication to attend.
