CTC Kingshurst Academy is a highly popular, oversubscribed establishment. We are currently undergoing an exciting and successful transformation in learning and teaching and are actively seeking outstanding and innovative teachers to help shape our journey from good to outstanding.  

The academy was last inspected by Ofsted in 2013 and its overall effectiveness was judged as “Good” and improving. With 85% of observed lessons found to be good or better, the inspectors reported that ‘teachers expect much of their students and communicate great enthusiasm for their subjects. Students have great respect for, and confidence in, their teachers and this supports students’ learning well’, Ofsted, 2013.   

Are you an outstanding teacher of English? Have you a proven record of delivering engaging and challenging learning experiences for your students? If so, these exciting new positions will provide you with the opportunity to continue to do so at the same time as extending and sharing the very best practice on a faculty- and academy-wide level. 

In 2016, the faculty of English achieved its best results to date, with 83% of students making 3LOP, and 46% of students making 4 LOP. These results are testament to the quality of teaching and learning already existing within the faculty. The successful candidate would further contribute to driving forward rapid improvement in both outcomes and the quality of delivery as the faculty of English continue to strive towards sustaining an outstanding provision for all learners.

We are a progressive academy with a mixture of new and experienced staff, and we are keen to expand the teaching team further and develop outstanding practice and engaging lessons for all. Successful candidates will drive student engagement and be able to co-ordinate and implement effective strategies to support staff that ensure rapid and sustained progress for all learners.
