Job overview

Join Hovingham Primary, Leeds, to inspire our children to ‘aim high’. We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative Learning & Teaching Assistants to join our team.

We are a large primary school (3 & 4 form entry) based in Harehills and we're lucky enough to serve the children that make Leeds a diverse metropolis of language and culture. Our vision is simple, to be a great school with a great team, with an ethos underpinned by our values: respect, tolerance, perseverance, and creativity.

The Learning & Teaching Assistant role is a fundamental part of our team structure where you can really make an impact on children’s lives by supporting their learning. This will involve carrying out a range of interventions particularly around communication, language and literacy and maths as well as supporting children to develop their personal skills. Furthermore, based within a team (KS1 or KS2) you will assist the class teacher in a range of activities from supporting with early identification of children’s needs, preparation of equipment and resources, managing behaviour as well as assisting in after school clubs.

As part of Team Hovingham, you will join a community of staff who are supportive of one another and are dedicated to transforming education in Leeds whilst rising to the challenges and opportunities of the area we serve.

If you share the same passion for inspiring the next generation, then apply below!

If you would like to have a tour of the school in advance of making your application please contact Anna Lattimer on 0113 2489537 or:

Please return completed applications to recruitment@hovingham.org

Interviews will take place Friday 16th September 22.

Applicant to apply online at www.leeds.gov.uk/jobs.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure Barring Service Check (formerly Criminal Records Bureau disclosure).

We promote diversity and want a workforce which reflects the population of Leeds.
