A rare opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced leader for our Expressing Learning Area.

Applicants for this role will ideally have

  • A high level of proficiency in subject expertise, knowledge of how students learn and differentiated pedagogical practice.
  • Exceptional rapport with children, parents, and staff to work collaboratively and creatively, ensuring the child is at the centre of the learning.
  • Postgraduate Qualifications in the field of the Arts and / or Design and Technology.
  • Proven pedagogical expertise and the ability to lead a team in the ongoing development of Teaching and Learning.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of independent and boarding school settings.

Please note we are currently recruiting for an innovative and experience Head of Performing Arts K - 12 (Co-Curricular). We will consider a combined position for a suitable well qualified candidate.

The Role

The Learning Area Leader - Expressing, will focus on each student’s learning journey through curriculum areas; will be pedagogical coach and mentor; will encourage and foster innovation, excellence, and a focus on learning as well as teaching through the curriculum.  This role will work collaboratively with other Learning Area Leaders and the Student Well-being Team.

The position requires a teaching role of approximately 0.8FTE.

The Scots School Albury is a mixed, mainstream, non-denominational independent boarding school located in New South Wales, Australia. The school was established in 1972 from a merger of the Albury Grammar School and the Woodstock Presbyterian Girls School. In 2016 The Scots School Albury celebrated its 150th anniversary.

The school is Preschool - Year 12 with a current enrolment of approximately 525 students. Boarding is available for students between Years 7-12 with the Sellars House for boys and the Wilson House for girls.

Our Junior School is an authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). The PYP is a contemporary approach to education that is delivered in schools around  Australia and the world.
