Job overview

Do you have the experience we are looking for?

Are you:

An outstanding HLTA able to enthuse and inspire our pupils and looking for a new challenge?  Or you may be a teacher looking for an opportunity to enjoy a teaching role without the full responsibility of a class.  The role is initially based in Year 2 for team teaching but may be allocated across any of the Pre Prep year groups.

You must be:

An approachable, engaging role model with high expectations of all pupils.

An excellent practitioner able to teach across all ability levels.

Competent in the use of ICT and willing to develop its usage.

Willing to engage in all aspects of the School's activities and ethos.

Do you have:

Strong organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines.

A willingness to support the standard of teaching and learning within the school.

The enthusiasm, skill and ability to make a positive contribution to this motivated and "excellent" team and the ability to make a real difference.

We aim to support, empower and challenge all our staff in an inspiring and innovative environment and are seeking a professional to bring a love of learning to our pupils as part of our exciting and welcoming team at Edge Grove. Rated "Excellent" across all areas in 2015 by ISI, we are seeking someone who can match our ambition to be "exceptional" in all we do.

This term-time only post is available from April 2020 and is offered on a full time, but term time only, basis only.  A competitive salary is on offer.

Further details of the School and a link to the School’s Pay Policy for Teaching Support Staff are available on the School's website.

Following the appointment of our current Head, Ben Evans, to Windlesham School in Sussex after 8 years of outstanding service, we are very pleased to welcome Lisa McDonald as our new Head from September 2020.

Lisa is currently Deputy Head of the British International School in New York which is a sister school to Abercorn School in central London and educates over 300 pupils from the age of three to sixteen. It teaches the English National Curriculum within the framework of the International Baccalaureate and serves a culturally diverse student population. Pupils go on to the top schools in New York with a number returning to boarding schools in the UK, both processes that Lisa is closely involved with.

Interviews will be held week commencing 3rd February 2020 but may be arranged as applications from suitable candidates are assessed so an early application is advised.

Edge Grove School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.

At Edge Grove we offer a holistic education by encouraging the development of the whole individual, seeking to find and foster talent whether in the classroom, the art room, in music, on the stage or on the sports field. We firmly believe that all children can and will excel at something.

We encompass the traditional values of good manners and self-discipline coupled with a modern and progressive approach. We offer an education that instils self-assurance and a passion for learning that stays with children for the rest of their lives.
