Ellis Guilford School is an 11-16 academy serving families in and around the Basford area of Nottingham. We have recently become part of the family of schools that make up the Creative Education Trust and are at the start of a journey to raise standards and ensure we do all that is needed to help the young people we serve succeed.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, proactive and professional Learning Assistant to support the IDEAL provision at Ellis Guilford School.

The IDEAL provision is to support KS4 pupils who have recently arrived in the UK and have a non-English speaking background. Its purpose is to create a full-time specialist provision for schools and students with:

Immediate access to intensive support for English (EAL) acquisition;

Opportunity to achieve qualifications quickly (ESOL, Functional Maths, Functional ICT, first language GCSE) ready for college/further studies.

Applications are encouraged from ambitious candidates who share our vision and belief that all pupils have the right to have access to the highest quality education.

We are an 11-16 school with over 1300 pupils on roll.

We have three Core Values that we expect our students to demonstrate:

  • Equality – give everyone a chance – to belong and succeed
  • Integrity – do the right thing – with passion, with purpose
  • Ambition – work hard, aim high – now and for the future

We aim to prepare all our pupils to be good citizens of the future. Ellis Guilford has hard working and caring staff who support pupils through engaging lessons, excellent pastoral care and a wide range of enrichment and extra curricular activities.

We very much value positive relationships with families as, together, we can make a real difference to the lives of our young people.

We joined the Creative Education Trust on 1st November 2018. CET have an excellent track record in supporting schools and we hope that this partnership will enable us to drive improvements and secure even better student progress and outcomes.
