We are seeking to appoint a committed and talented Learning Assistant, to work with a named pupil at the Kingswood Primary Academy.
The ideal Learning Assistant will demonstrate behaviour management strategies when working with SEND pupils and pro-actively support the learning needs of the named pupil under the guidance of the class teacher; also they will be a professional role model to the pupils, with the confidence to challenge and the creativity to motivate.
To be successful you must have:
- excellent communication skills;
- the ability to provide support that is second to none;
- experience of working with young people or children with SEND;
- first rate team working skills;
- a professional approach and high personal standards.
The Kingswood Primary Academy, part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT), is situated in Corby and aims to develop confident, creative, independent learners. All the staff try to empower learners to have a thirst for knowledge. Since joining GAT in April 2013, the leadership team have driven major improvements in teaching and learning. This was reflected in the “Good” Ofsted inspection report, carried out in February 2015. It commented on how well pupils behave at the academy due to their good relationships with each other and with the staff.
In return the academy and GAT look to support staff in their careers and offer first class CPD and opportunities for career progression.
This role is for 27.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday and is required in term time only; therefore this is reflected in the pro rata salary.
