We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the City of Peterborough Academy Special School. The Academy has a primary focus for children and young people who have Autistic/Asperger’s Spectrum Disorder. 

The successful learning assistant will support the Class Teacher to carry out a range of activities to promote learning and development.  This will include working on a one to basis and in small groups as well as giving support to children with additional needs who may require physical intervention on occasion.

You will be:

· keen to learn with a positive outlook

· able to work on your own initiative

· experienced in working with children

· able to work as part of a team

· willing to undertake training 

· enthusiastic and have the skills to challenge and motivate all our pupils.

Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs would be advantageous. You will be joining a passionate group of colleagues who strive to achieve the best outcomes for pupils in all aspects of their lives. 

The working hours are 37 hours a week, Mon to Fri, in term time only. This is reflected in the pro-rata’d salary.
