We are seeking a passionate and committed Learning Assistant to support a named pupil on a one to one basis at the Rushden Primary Academy.
This brand new state of the art academy opened in September 2015 and now has two reception classes and a combined Year one and two class full of delightful, well behaved children as well as friendly and supporting staff. The academy will grow year on year until it reaches full capacity in September 2021.
We require a skilled and committed Learning Assistant to mainly work with an individual child who has special or particular needs, in accordance with the child’s statement and as directed by the teacher. You will also provide support to the Teacher across a range of child centred activities to promote child development and learning and may be required to take small groups. Experience of working with children on the autistic spectrum would be desirable.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate;
• a range of behaviour management strategies and learning skills;
• be well organised and have high expectations of achievement and behaviour;
• possess excellent communication skills, at all levels;
• have previous experience of working in a similar role.
