Contracts for up to 28 hours over 36 weeks
Job start date: September 2017
You will be supporting students requiring additional help with their programmes of study across various areas within College, creating positive relationships with them and assisting them in a classroom or workshop setting. This will include students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, including emotional, social, behavioural and mobility needs.
To support both the pastoral care and academic development of our students, it is essential that you have GCSE English at grade C or above, (or equivalent) and Maths GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this subject qualification, as well as effective organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience of working with people with learning difficulties and disabilities is essential, whilst experience of working with 14-16 year olds who demonstrate challenging behaviour would be an advantage.

Chichester College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, general further education college situated in West Sussex. It is a 16-plus institution with two main sites in Chichester and Pulborough, plus further outreach centres in Bognor Regis, Littlehampton and Worthing. It has links to local employers, most of a small to medium size.
Chichester College of Arts, Science and Technology, as it was formerly known, opened in 1964. Chichester College has been offering work-based training since 1996. It has approximately 10,897 part-time learners and 3,732 full-time students.
