Everybody deserves a great education.
You’ll give them everything they need to succeed.
At Varndean College, we believe education is for everyone. We’re here to break down the barriers to success, so people gain the skills they need to become the best they can. You’ll be at the frontline of making it happen as you lead and inspire a team of progress learning coaches and co-ordinate small-group sessions to build students’ confidence and develop their study abilities.
Engaging with students from diverse social backgrounds, you will develop tailored plans of action to release their potential and create events focusing on essay writing, time management, revision, research, proofreading and mind mapping, among many other topics. Equally importantly, you will build the skills of our team of tutors to enable them to make a significant and lasting difference, giving you an extremely high profile and making you a powerful catalyst for change.
Creating and presenting training sessions should be second nature to you, and you will be passionate about delivering advice and guidance within an educational setting. Experience of tutoring at level 2 and providing one-to-one study skills support would naturally be very useful, as would broad knowledge of learning difficulties and the further education sector. More importantly, you will be highly motivated and empathetic, with the drive and determination to help students overcome obstacles and the organisational and interpersonal abilities to get the very best from your team.
