Manor Junior School is a multi-cultural 5 form entry community school in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Manor Junior School wish to appoint an efficient, highly communicative person to join our team as the Learning Mentor & Deputy Safeguarding Lead. Applicants will be required to work with all members of the school community (parents, carers, visitors and staff). Applicants must demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally and ideally have experience of working in a similar environment.
You will need to be:
- able to gain the confidence of children and parents/carers to overcome barriers in learning
- skilled in verbal and written communication with children, parents, school staff and a range of other professionals
- knowledgeable about the Key Stage 2 curriculum and how children learn
- knowledgeable about the issues that affect a child’s social, academic and emotional development
- able to prioritise and delegate, manage caseloads and have good time management
- able to think strategically and creatively independently and in a team
- able to promote the ethos and aims of the school
