If you are a conscientious, empathetic and experienced TA / HLTA / Learning mentor / Residential support worker who enjoys working in a challenging environment with young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties please get in touch.
This role will require you to work on a flexible basis with pupils to build positive, professional relationships and help children overcome barriers to learning. Each pupil's timetable is tailor made to cater to their needs and interests, therefore you will be required to be adaptable and think on your feet.
It is essential for a learning mentor to have experience dealing with challenging and oppositional behaviour whether this be in an educational, residential or youth setting. Ideally you will have knowledge of working with Individual behaviour/ Education plans to help you in your work to steer pupils on the right path.
It is desirable that you hold a certificate in Team Teach, however we could help to train and certify you in this as we run CPD courses for our staff. Other courses on offer that could help to develop your understanding of working within SEMH settings include behaviour management and mental health awareness.
