Salary Range SCP 13-23, Level 5 (£23,576-£28,690), actual salary is £20,266-£24,662 for 37 hours per week, term time only, plus INSET.

Priory School is a “Good” Ofsted rated, diverse & multi-cultural Primary Foundation School located on the outskirts of Slough. There are approximately 764 children ranging from Nursery to Year 6. The school also has a Resource Unit with 80 children for pupils with complex needs.

We are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor to provide support and guidance to children by removing barriers to learning in order to promote effective participation, enhance individual learning, raise aspirations and achieve full potential.

The successful candidate will:

• Have 5 A* - C GCSE or equivalent including Maths and English
• Have NVQ Level 3 qualification or other equivalent qualification in child care and education
• Be able to demonstrate experience of working and dealing sensitively with families, staff and pupils
• Have experience of working in a school
• Have genuine concern for the educational progress of children irrespective of their background or ethnicity
• Be able to demonstrate a positive approach with enthusiasm, energy and perseverance
