At Grove Academy we believe our best resource is our staff. We are passionate about developing our staff, and will give you all the support you need to achieve your best.

We are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor to ensure pupils undertake a pre-prepared lesson during a teacher’s absence, support students and work closely to support the pastoral and curricular systems both operationally and administratively.

Grove Academy is a new and expanding free school which opened in September 2017 and is the first all-through school to open in Slough. We have now moved into our permanent site and are excited to be fully resourced for a rich and broad curriculum.

Grove Academy is the second school opened by The SASH Education Trust (Slough Association of Secondary Head teachers) and we benefit enormously from the support and collaboration of the 14 secondary Head teachers in Slough.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and shape the future success of Grove Academy.

We are looking for someone who:

Is flexible in their thinking and willing to trial new ideas

Is a team player who puts the success of all learners at the heart of all they do

Is passionate about ensuring every student meets their potential

Has excellent subject knowledge

What we can offer:

A brand-new state of the art building

The opportunity to work with our diverse community

A welcoming supportive team

A high-quality programme of professional development

A laptop

On site and remote technical support

Access to our employee assistance programme

If you feel excited about joining our team and can commit to our relentless drive in improving life chances for our young people then we would love to hear from you.

Please visit our website for more information, the applicant information pack and application form or click on the links on the TES website. The supporting statement should reference the job description and the following two questions:

What passion and experience will you bring to this role?

We reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date if a suitable candidate is found.

Grove Academy is the first all-through school to open in Slough and provides opportunity and education for 4 to 16 year olds, underpinned by high-quality teaching and learning and a common assessment framework. This continuity ensures that we can avoid the dips in performance associated with transition from one school to another.

As one school we are able to teach subjects to our younger children via specialist subject teachers, such as modern foreign languages and PE. We can provide pastoral care for children in challenging circumstances by offering a ‘joined-up’ strategy and support families more consistently over a longer time.

Our Vision, Aims & Ethos:

Grove Academy is a school where every child can feel welcome, successful and included. We want our pupils to:

· Be responsible, fully active citizens who are kind to one another, ready to learn, know how to keep themselves safe and are proud of their achievements

· Develop the confidence to participate in decision making, and have a creative input across the three areas of family well-being, public service and contribution to the economy

· Engage in a curriculum which will encourage problem solving, critical reflection, research and challenge

· Leave school confident in their ability to succeed and able to successfully access the  world of work or further/higher education

· Be able to learn new skills and engage in business markets that no one is yet able to define

· Be the future leaders of our society

· Recognise the importance of creativity and innovation to their future lives
