Learning Support Assistant

Bertrum House Nursery is looking to appoint a motivated and passionate Early Years learning support assistant to join our team from February 2022.  We are a friendly, community focused nursery situated between Balham and Tooting Bec.  We have a well-qualified and stable team; large, bright classrooms; a hall for activities such as dance and yoga; and a huge field for outdoor learning. The role is to support a child with Down Syndrome.  She is a bright, engaged and motivated little girl and we’re looking for someone who can commit to supporting her with high quality, ambitious learning activities.  The ideal candidate will have a passion and energy for working with SEND pupils and is motivated to learn and use Makaton (Level 1 and 2 training can be provided). You will also have high expectations for the pupil's learning and behaviour. 

You will be supported by the nursery SENDCO and class teacher to provide 1:1 support in the classroom and deliver additional daily activities to support speech and language targets as well as fine and gross motor skills.

Working hours are as follows:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8.30am to 3.30pm

Tuesday: 8.30am to 1.30pm

Friday: 8.30am to 12.30pm

You will need to commit to at least two terms, finishing on 6th July 2022.
