Job overview
We are looking for an experienced, dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join the Learning Support Team at Brighton Girls Prep. This is a friendly, supportive school with a nurturing, inclusive ethos.
In this varied role, you will be required to support our pupils in their teaching and learning, social and emotional development, work on a 1:1 basis with a hearing-impaired pupil and support our after-school provision for pupils in Reception - Year 6.
You will:
- Be an excellent team player who is flexible and shows an ability to recognise and respond to pupils’ needs
- Have a cheerful and positive outlook
- Have good numeracy and literacy skills
- Have experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
- Have experience in the effective use of ICT to support learning
- Have an NVQ level 3 (supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent)
- Understand relevant policies/codes of practice and have an awareness of relevant legislation applicable for this role
- Demonstrate a general understanding of the national/foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies
Working hours
Monday & Wednesday: 1.30pm - 3.30pm
Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 1.30pm - 6.00pm
