Your opportunity

We are seeking to recruit a fixed term full time Learning Support Assistant that is motivated to work on a 1:1 basis supporting a pupil in year 6. The role is for a fixed period until the end of the summer term.

What we are looking for

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about pupil welfare and has the ability to make a difference to the learning journey of a child. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the behaviour, communication, social and emotional development of the children and actively assist our teachers with supporting the children within and outside the classroom.

You will be:

• Able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare, personal and social needs of the child(ren) that you are supporting.

• Able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour.

• Enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team, including working closely with parents and outside agencies.

• Able to relate exceptionally well with children and to go that extra mile to help them achieve.

• Experienced in working with young children

• Experienced in how to observe and assess progression and attainment.

The Details

Salary: £19,300

Actual Salary: £13,886.21

Hours of work: Full time: 8.40 – 3.15pm (30-minute unpaid lunch), with potential for some flexibility on start and finish times for the right candidate
