Clay Hill School are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly education team.

Clay Hill School is a specialist school providing education for boys and girls aged 9 - 18 who have complex emotional, social and behavioural needs.  They may also have a range of associated complex needs such as attachment disorders and other conditions within the Autistic or Aspergers spectrum which invariably have a negative impact on their learning and progression.

We provide a wholly integrated and highly effective provision providing 1:1 or small group education, individualised therapy, and a carefully structured social development programme. A stable, calm and caring environment is provided which, combined with high staff to pupil ratios, ensures that every pupil at Clay Hill School has the opportunity to develop their ability, share new experiences and reach their full potential in a secure and safe environment.

You'll be required to undertake education support duties and to assist the class teacher in the day to day needs of the pupils in their care as well as enabling the teacher to implement the curriculum and respond to the pupils’ needs.  It is important that our Learning Support Assistants establish a good relationship with pupils by using language and other communication skills that the pupils can understand and relate to.  Promoting positive pupil behaviour in line with school policies by the use of praise and encouragement is another important aspect of the work we do within the school.

We can offer you:

  • A comprehensive training package including scheduled ongoing face to face training and CPD planning
  • Company pension scheme plus a great benefits package
  • Plenty of opportunities to maximise earnings and career development
  • Enhanced disclosure cost coverage.

Due to the nature of the role and our remote location, it is a requirement that applicants hold a clean driving license and have access to their own vehicle.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all our employees to share in this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS Enhanced Disclosure.
