LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT
(Permanent or Temporary position)
We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work in the special educational needs department. We are particularly interested in applications from Learning Support Assistants who have experience of working with children who have speech and language difficulties.
This will involve some 1:1 and small group work, and support of identified students in mainstream classes. Applicants need to be resourceful, adaptable, physically fit, able to show initiative, ready to learn new skills, quick-thinking, calm under pressure, resilient, determined and caring.
Experience or qualifications in working with pupils with SEN is desirable but not essential as further training will be provided. This role would suit graduates considering the teaching profession and wishing to gain valuable experience first. A minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths is essential.
