Job overview

Holmer Green is a popular 11 to 18 school with 890 students (100+ in the Sixth Form). Relationships at all levels are excellent and we are committed to the professional development of all our staff. 

We are looking for Learning Support Assistants to promote teaching and learning with our Learning Support Department and our Speech & Language and ASD ARP. This is a varied, challenging and highly interesting role and we are looking for both experienced and inexperienced candidates.

Holmer Green Senior School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, 11-18 academy with sixth form, situated near High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. The school, which became an academy in 2012, has 1000+ students on the school roll, with a fast growing Sixth Form.  We are currently benefitting from a large expansion plan with up to date facilities for staff and students.

  • Staff are trusted to use their professional judgement in planning, delivering and assessing lessons. There are high expectations of the conduct of students and staff. It is a supportive school with staff who are willing to help each other.
  • The students at HGSS are committed to getting a good education. They work hard and want to do well. They are a pleasure to teach.
  • I get up in the morning and look forward to coming to work. No two days are the same but every day is a pleasurable challenge. I think the new Headteacher has amazing qualities and it is obvious that he cares about his staff and his students.
  • In comparison to other schools I have worked at, the “team” is so supportive, welcoming and friendly – it makes such a difference. The Headteacher and all SLT members are approachable and treat me as valuable member of their team.
