Job overview

We are recruiting for a number of Learning Support Assistants to assist in the support and integration of children with Special Educational Needs within mainstream school and to work both as part of a team and independently to support the aims of the department within Manchester Academy.

SEN support throughout the school is through individual or small group interventions, in class support and bespoke timetables for those most vulnerable. The Academy has a well-resourced Department with a dedicated team of Learning Support Assistant's (LSA's). The team of LSA's liaise with the SENCO and external agencies to plan and deliver tailored interventions depending on the needs of the child. 

Manchester Academy has small SEND classes in KS3 for students who need a little extra nurture. These classes have a maximum of 16 pupils. The have a full time Teaching assistant to support the group during lessons and the students are taught by subject specialists. Other specialist Teaching assistants are deployed in this class when required.  

Manchester Academy has an ASD Resource Provision with places for 15 pupils. At present we have 16 pupils accessing the Provision through their Education Health Care plans.

You will be able to:

Work with individuals and small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher including the delivery of programmes of work and implementation of EHCPs.

Supervise and support students ensuring their safety and access to learning
