The Study Preparatory School and Nursery is seeking to appoint an energetic, highly motivated, passionate and outstanding individual to join us as a Learning Support Assistant starting in September 2022. This one to one support role will involve supporting a year 1 students for 4 hours per day.  

We welcome applications from experienced Learning Support Assistants as well as those looking to start a career in support. The ability to support in English and Maths is essential, having SEND experience would be an advantage but is not essential. 

You should be a team player who can bring a genuine love of teaching and learning and a commitment to pupil wellbeing and wider school life, you will be working with fantastic staff and pupils. 

The Study Preparatory School and Nursery has a strong family atmosphere and prepares pupils exceptionally well for schools of their choice at age 11+. We are a small, friendly preparatory school which and nursery for boys and girls aged 2 years to 11 years old. The Study Preparatory School and Nursery has a unique and charming atmosphere, seldom found in schools today. The well-equipped playground provides ample space for outdoor learning and play.


The successful Learning Support Assistant should be passionate about children’s learning and be able to demonstrate the following;


• Have qualifications in Maths and English and the ability to support in these areas.

• Have some experience of pupil support in a formal setting. 

• To have the ability to communicate clearly with pupils.

• To have ICT skills and be able to use these in supporting pupils’ learning.

• Have an understanding of how to build rapport and positive relationships with pupils.

• Have an ability to recognise and respect diversity in the classroom.

• Have an excellent team work ethic, contributing to the professional discussions in the classroom.

• Have a professional attitude.

• Have a strong regard for student’s well-being including emotional and physical needs.

• Have a positive approach to working with children, and an ability to inspire and motivate them.

• A working knowledge of SEND needs and how to support these.
