Salary: Grade D: £15,613 to £16,123 pro rata (Actual salary £11,041)

Contract Type: 31hrs 40 mins/week (38 weeks a year)

We are looking to appoint a Level 2 LSA to assist with planning and delivering interventions with children to help improve their literacy. You will have a background working with or caring for young people and will have a genuine desire to help educate our students. You will be confident in your own literacy skills and may already have developed specialist knowledge in literacy-related interventions. You will be able to work independently and have a passion for child-centred learning and equality. You will join a friendly and supportive team who work well together to ensure the highest achievement for all students.

The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) staff at Northampton School for Girls is a hardworking and focused team who support students under four strands: Access, Literacy, Numeracy and Social, Emotional & Mental Health. The Learning Support Team work within these strands developing specialist knowledge and experience in these areas through training and sharing good practice. The team supports students in classrooms, working alongside quality first teaching, and in small intervention groups and 1 to 1 sessions in the dedicated SEND area we affectionately call the 'Blue Lagoon'. Our SEND team supports students in three levels of need: vulnerable learners (wave 1), SEN support (wave 2) and Educational Health Care Plan (wave 3). Students in waves 2 & 3 have an Individual Learning Plan to support their progress and personal development.
