We have a fantastic opportunity at our small and friendly Ridgeway Campus for an experienced and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join the team on a full time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly motivated LSA to provide support for SEND students across KS2-KS5 and assist the Learning Support Coordinator where necessary.

We are looking for someone who will: 

• Have prior experience as a Learning Support Assistant or other relevant special educational needs experience 

• Understand special educational needs as defined in the SEN Code of Practice

• Experience of working with children of the age with which the post is concerned 

• Experience of delivering interventions to individuals or small groups 

• Educated to Grade A*-C in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) 

• Willingness to utilise technology to support learners remotely where required 

• Work effectively as part of a team 

• Good communication skills both written / verbal and good organisational skills 

• Knowledge, understanding and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students 

• Be a positive role model of professional practice and conduct Respect and promote the schools Ethos and Values 

• Be willing to utilise technology to support learners remotely where required

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the progress of students with SEND through in class learning support

• Support the educational progress and inclusion of students with EHC plans 

• Deliver appropriate interventions to students, one-to-one and in small groups, under the direction of the SENDCo

• Organise and manage all necessary resources and an appropriate learning environment 

• Assess, manage and deliver learning support to SEND students using knowledge and specialist skills 

• To act as a Key Worker for identified pupils, regularly liaising with parents and staff to ensure progress against Learning plan targets 

• To work closely with allocated pupils, understanding how to motivate and encourage them to achieve and progress through the development of their Attributes, Skills and Knowledge (ASK)

• Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies 

• To perform such other duties as may be requested from time to time, commensurate with the role

• Uphold and promulgate the OneSchool Global UK ethos within all areas of responsibility

The start of the new school year sees our transition from the Victorian school in Cottingham to a new 40,000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility in Scunthorpe. This excellent facility provides a technology-rich learning environment to assist our self-directed students from Y3 – Y13 to excel at the broad range of national curriculum subjects available.
