There is an increasing number of applications to Northampton College from learners with additional requirements. A team of Specialist Teachers, Academic Coaches and Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) support the diverse and varies requirements of the learners studying on programmes across the college.
Learning Support Assistants work to assist subject teachers to enable their students to reach their greatest potential whilst study. LSAs are also supported and directed by specialist practitioners.
The post holder will be expected to support learners with their all aspects of their College experience (such as through note taking, supporting learners through examinations or facilitating non-taught activities such as Breakfast Club & lunchtimes). The post holder will also need to adapt teaching and learning materials to suit each individual learners needs. There is also the requirement to record and monitor the needs of learners and be able to provide evidence of support given for audit purposes.
This post will require a flexible working approach, and may require some evening work when required.
