Our team of Learning Support Assistants support students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in mainstream classes and small groups to help students achieve their full potential. 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • a good understanding of SEND
  • experience working with children with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • excellent literacy and numeracy skills including Maths and English GCSE at A-C (or equivalent)
  • ability to motivate and encourage students
  • excellent communication skills 
  • good IT skills including Microsoft Office or Google Suite

For qualified HLTAs, there is the opportunity for a HLTA position, which in addition to the LSA duties would include work and responsibilities in line with the HLTA Standards.

The hours of work are Monday 8.30am-3.30pm and Tuesday to Friday 8.30am-3pm, 39 weeks per year (term time plus non-student days). This position is initially based at New Rickstones Academy. However, as we work closely with our sister academy, Maltings Academy (also in Witham), all new contracts are to work across both academies.

New Rickstones Academy is a secondary school based in Witham.  This is an exciting time to join New Rickstones Academy as we continue to expand.
