Learning Support Assistant (Permanent)

Beech Hall School is looking for an experienced and dynamic Learning Support Assistant, ideally with a focus on mathematics, to join their team from 4th January 2022. The core purpose of this role is to support specific pupils within the classroom environment, small group situations and on a one-to-one basis as required.  LSA’s will work with teaching staff to raise the learning and attainment of pupils whilst also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.

This is a challenging and varied role and an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated person with good interpersonal skills with ideally previous experience of delivering support for the teaching and learning of mathematics. 

We are looking for someone who is flexible, able to use their own initiative and can work well in a team situation. The candidate will follow the direction of the teacher whilst also understanding the child they are working with and how to differentiate the task appropriately to suit their needs.

Duties will include running specific programmes and activities to assist the pupil’s individual learning and social needs. The candidate will also be responsible for implementing the targets on the pupils’ School Focus Plan (SFP) in liaison with the class teacher and SENDCo.

Positions within our Learning Support team are valued and highly regarded, and for that reason we offer competitive rates of pay.  As such, even though the role is term time only, the salary is for the full year and not pro rata.  This is a permanent position.
