Job overview

The Role

Falcons Preparatory School for Boys is searching for a Learning Support Assistant who can support a Year 7 boy for 20 hours a week, from 9am to 1pm each day.  He is cognitively able pupil but with dyslexia as well as more complex needs associated with attention and processing difficulties.

The Learning Support Assistant (LSA) will encourage him to work, where possible independently, and for a large proportion of time in class. The LSA will also work one to one in order to support his engagement in lessons, and to increase his independence by teaching him to use touch typing and voice to text software.

The LSA will liaise with the specialists like the Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapist so that their advice is followed through during the week.  This role would suit a graduate, or someone with experience and an interest in special needs.

The salary will be £15,347 or more dependent on skills, experience and qualifications.

Closing date: Friday 27th July 2018
