| Description | San Clemente High School, Mayfield is seeking 2 temporary part time (44 hours/fortnight) Learning Support Assistants to join the school community for Term 1, 2021. | Position Requirements | The Learning Support Assistant works in collaboration with the Learning Support Teachers to support students with additional needs, supporting the development of inclusive learning environments and providing assistance to teachers to meet the specific learning needs of students with additional needs. | |
| Essential Criteria | •Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school •Demonstrated appropriate experience and/or Certificate III in Special Education •High level of communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students and other teachers with the ability to work collaboratively with school staff and members of the wider community •Demonstrated experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder •Demonstrated experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviours and ability to follow plans and procedures put in place for these students •Understanding of non-violent crisis intervention strategies for school students •Highly developed computer skills and an ability to use technology for education support •Demonstrated ability to contribute as a member of a team and assist in the planning, preparation and implementation of personalised plans and programs to enhance student support The applicant must provide evidence of the following: •Current Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC)number; •Completion of Anaphylaxis training. |
