Learning Support Assistant

Your opportunity

Harris Academy Riverside is currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated learning support assistant to work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support the educational, emotional, physical, social and cultural development of all students including those with Education Health Care Plans.

As a new academy at the beginning of our journey, we can offer a chance to shape the culture and strategy of the academy and the potential for rapid progression. The successful candidate will report to the Special Educational Needs Coordinator and will believe in the ability of everyone to develop, in challenge as well as support and in never giving up on any student. The successful candidate will be patient, enthusiastic, determined and committed and have the skills and attributes to influence the attitudes and behaviours of students.

Applications are invited from those who:

• Are university graduates, looking to explore a career in Education (preferred)
• Have experience of working with secondary age students with learning difficulties
• Possess a willingness to assist as necessary from time to time with personal hygiene and use of a hoist
• Use a good standard of communication, English, Maths and ICT skills
• Possess a willingness to read, train, learn and develop rapidly

The successful candidate will develop to be a role model to students and fully embrace the vision, ethos and values of the academy.
