Are you looking for a career in education?  Is your next step teaching?  Would you like to work in a primary school environment to gain experience of supporting primary aged children with their learning? Then an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our high achieving, expanding school, based in Putney.

The Headteacher and Governors of Granard Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced, self-motivated and inspiring Learning Support Assistant.  We are three form entry in Reception and Key Stage 1 and two form throughout the rest of the school (from September we will be three form entry in Year 3).  We have a wonderful community spirit that celebrates our vibrant and diverse multi-cultural community and are looking to appoint a caring, committed, passionate and dynamic outstanding individual who has high aspirations, to support our children with Education and Health Care Plans.

The right candidate will be a role model to our children; challenging and inspiring our children through high expectations, both in work and behaviour; will make learning fun and have a genuine belief that all children have the potential for success.  This post is event linked, which means that the post will cease to exist when the post or funding ceases.

This position would ideally suit an energetic, resilient candidate who is kind, flexible, and patient and has the ability to inspire and motivate young children.  You will need to be proactive and creative in supporting and engaging the children in the classroom and the outside environment, and be able to encourage high standards of discipline both in the classroom and at break times and lunchtimes.  You will need to be able to support the children’s general welfare and hygiene needs and be confident about working with young children.  You will also need to work closely with the class teacher to prepare resources, put up displays of children’s work and carry out various administrative tasks required in the classroom.  You will also need to be able to work effectively as part of a team.

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Is a committed team member

English and Maths GCSE grade A-C, or equivalent, essential.  Candidates selected for interview must bring evidence of their qualifications with them.  We would be very happy to receive applications from graduates.
